Certificate in Shari'ah Compliance Hospitality

Islamic tourism is not just restricted to the provision of Halal food, but also includes hospitality services that comply with Islamic law (Shari'ah). This includes hotels, resorts, restaurants, and airlines that do not serve alcoholic beverages, offer food with halal certificates, and provide separate wellness facilities for women, prayer facilities and a generally Muslim-friendly environment.

As the global Muslim population grows, so does the potential for Muslim-friendly hospitality services to become big business. This programme discusses in detail the Shari'ah compliance hospitality from various aspects, such as services, food preparation, management, and Halal certification based on various practices and standards. The course will cover the general study of the concept of Islamic hospitality.

A minimum of SPM or any other qualifications from recognized institutions approved by the University authorities.

On successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of official guides and standards on contemporary Islamic hospitality.
  • Possess the basic ability to identify new rooms of improvement for Islamic hospitality.
